Alumni Awards Submission

Submission Requirements

All nominees must hold a degree from the Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine.
Self, alumni and Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine faculty nominations are accepted.
Individuals can be nominated in multiple award categories in the same year. They will receive a single award per year.
Individual awards listed may be received only once per individual.
Submissions require a completed nomination form and a minimum of at least one letter of support. Letters of support may be from alumni, colleagues and others in the nominee’s field of work.
While not required, submitting the nominee’s CV is strongly recommended. For an example of how to request a CV, please see the CV request template below.

Dean’s Lifetime Achievement Award in Medicine and Biomedical Sciences

This award is presented in recognition of an accomplished alumni who has contributed substantially to medicine and biomedical sciences, education, and to society at large. Award celebrates outstanding MD, PhD or MD/PhD alumni whose efforts exhibit outstanding lifelong commitment, inspiration and dedication to improving medicine and the lives of others and have brought about distinction for the Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine.

Distinguished Alumni Award

This award is presented to MD, MD/PhD or PhD alumni in recognition of outstanding achievement as demonstrated by substantive commitment to the School of Medicine’s mission of making positive and lasting change in medical science through cutting-edge research, clinical care, education or service to the community. Recipients of this award will serve as a source of inspiration to students, alumni and other health professionals and act as a source of pride for the School of Medicine.

Emerging Leaders Alumni Award

This award recognizes recent alumni who are within 10 years of completing their post-graduate training and demonstrate a significant level of accomplishment in the field of medicine (clinical care, teaching, research, public health, health systems or other notable accomplishments within their field) while balancing the demands of being a recent graduate.

Advocacy, Equity and Social Justice in Medicine Alumni Award

This award recognizes alumni whose work contributes to improving healthcare and health equity for patients and communities with particular attention to the provision of primary care and/or care in under-resourced communities or with groups who have been economically or socially marginalized both locally and/or globally. Recipients of this award have made extraordinary and sustainable contributions that have impacted quality of care, health and wellbeing through excellence in advocacy, the provision of person- and community-centered clinical care, research, community service, mentoring, social or civic engagement or other notable accomplishments.

Humanitarian Award

This award recognizes graduates who have demonstrated commitment and dedication to serve humanity and provide compassionate care to help improve the health and welfare of individuals and communities throughout the United States or internationally who are under-resourced or with special needs that contribute to an increased burden of disease.
