Jonathan Macy, MD
Class of: 1976
Specialties: Ophthalmology
Current practice: Macy Eye Center
Fond memory of BUSM: I remember my interview with John O’Connor. He said his daughter was applying to college. He asked my views on the pros and cons of small schools versus large schools. After a wide-ranging discussion about nothing to do with medical school, that I thought was a warm-up to the real interview, he stood up and shook my hand, indicating that the interview was over.
Favorite professor at BUSM: William McNary. Medical school was not always smooth sailing. However, we knew we always had at least one advocate.
Most recent accomplishment: Appointed Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at both the UCLA Geffen School of Medicine and the USC Keck School of Medicine.
Hobbies outside of work: Reading. Biking. Visiting my grandchildren.
Academic appointment: Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at both the UCLA Geffen School of Medicine and the USC Keck School of Medicine.
Recent publications: My CV contains over 60 publications and more than 300 presentations.
