Bedford Chief Resident
Experience: Administration, Teaching, Clinical (optional), working closely with first and second year residents and BUSM third year medical students providing clinical supervision and teaching. Residents may select clinical ares of interest to enhance their clinical skills. Public Health Scholar Research and Administrative Psychiatry Experience: Administration, work with experienced psychiatric administrators. Research is conducted as part of the BU School of Public Health curriculum in policy and planning that may included Quality Improvement, public health developments and outcome studies. Interprofessional Team Experience: Clinical, member of Interprofessional Team providing full service care to veterans working with other mental health professionals and trainees. Residents have the opportunity for additional experience in telepsychiatry. Geriatric Psychiatry Experience: Research and/or clinical, work with veterans and their families in award winning Geriatric Research Education Clinical Center (GRECC) Administrative Psychiatry Experience: Administration, work with experienced psychiatric administrators Crisis Intervention/Evaluation Experience: Walk-in Psychiatry Clinic provides assessment and treatment of veterans who present with acute psychiatric problems Research Experience: Various Inpatient Psychiatry Experience: Inpatient Psychiatry. Residents may expand upon their earlier training in Inpatient Psychiatry to prepare for post-graduate inpatient psychiatry careers by taking leadership roles under supervision in the treatment of acute inpatient psychiatry patients.
